The best Sonic the Hedgehog merch, toys and collectibles
New Sonic merch has launched on the Sega shop to mark the blue blur's 30th anniversary, including a statue, pin badge set, clothing and even a card game.
Today marks the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. That's right, it's been 30 years since the first Sonic game was released on Sega Genesis back in 1991 and made an international cultural impact. The speedy blue blur has brought so much joy to people around the world and is, for many, a childhood hero.
Sega has released a new line of official merch to celebrate Sonic's 30th birthday, including a statue, pin badge set, clothing and even a card game. Not all of it is available to buy just yet, but you can pre-order on the Sega shop. If you pre-order from the Sega shop, you'll also receive your items two week's earlier than from any other retailer.
While there aren't any totally new Sonic games being released this year (there is a new Sonic game intended for release in 2022), Sonic Team have released a remastered version of the cult game, Sonic Colours. It's available on Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. Sega says the updated version will showcase 'stunning visuals, additional features, a new mode, and improved gameplay enhancements.

Sega says the statue in the image is a prototype and that the final product might change, but it still looks super awesome. It's available to pre-order for £69.99 and is expected to be released in August 2021. Sonic enthusiasts, be sure to pre-order if you don't want to miss out on this limited edition collectable.
Sonic the Hedgehog 30th anniversary stainless steel water bottle
This ultra-cool Sonic water bottle is available to buy now for £19.99 from the Sega shop. The sleek bowling pin-style water bottle features a Sonic the Hedgehog 30th anniversary design on the front and illustrates Sonic’s evolution over the years.
